Description

Create a decentralized Wiki Jury of up to 25 willing participants from the Free TON community who are willing to put in the time and efforts to study, interpret, analyze, vote, and deliver qualified feedback to contest submissions from contestants for the Free TON Wiki Subgovernance.

Type

Contest

Contest period

October 1, 2020 – October 15, 2020 (UTC time)
Watch the end time of the contest on the Wiki Subgovernance page .

Motivation

In an effort to decentralize processes within the Free TON Wiki Subgovernance, the jury must be selected from the community. This will help achieve the goal of decentralized subgovernance for the Free TON Wiki.

Contest submission requirements

You must submit a curriculum vitae that demonstrates one, all, or some of the following:

  • Be a member of the Free TON community and sign the Declaration of Decentralization.
  • Be an active member of the Free TON Wiki community.
  • Bring real benefit to the growth of the Free TON Wiki.

Winner rights and duties

Winners will get the right to be a juror for each Free TON Wiki contest going forward and get the same reward as each contest describes for jurors. In order to get the jury reward described in each contest, the juror must do the following:

  1. Each juror should review each contest and its requirements under “Free TON Wiki Contests”.

  2. The juror should review each contestant’s submission (uploaded in .PDF format) and determine if each submission is within the scope of his or her understanding to judge it, and then vote as follows:
    a) If outside of juror competence, the juror should vote to “Abstain”.
    b) If within juror competence, the juror should vote on a scale of 1-to-10 with 1 representing least and 10 representing most qualified submissions.
    c) If the submission is inappropriate, the PDF file is unopenable or corrupt, etc., the juror should vote to “Reject”.

  3. The juror should provide constructive feedback in the appropriate field describing the reason for their score.

  4. To reject the submission, only 50% +1 votes from those members of the jury who actually voted for this submission work is enough.

  5. The jury rewards will be distributed in proportion to the number of votes cast by each jury member.

  6. A judge has the right to vote in contests in which he/she participates, but he is not allowed to vote for its own submission. Self-vote will not be counted.

  7. Jury members who have not voted for 2 months are automatically expelled from the Jury without notice.

As any civic duty dictates, every juror must remain objective to the best of his/her abilities in regard to voting, i.e., stick to the facts and the facts only, leaving any personal feelings aside.

Voting for the new jury

  1. Each of the current members of the Wiki Jury (originally the Wiki Initial Members) can vote for any submission (candidacy) to become a Wiki Juror.

  2. Each juror will vote by rating each submission on a scale of 1 to 10 or can choose to reject it if it does not meet the requirements, or they can choose to abstain from voting.

  3. Jurors will provide feedback for every submission.

  4. In order for a qualifying candidate to become a member of the Wiki Jury, a submission must receive 50% +1 votes from those Wiki Jury members who actually voted for that submission.

  5. The Free TON Wiki Initial Members that form the original Free TON Wiki Jury will retain their Wiki Jury membership after this contest ends. All the rights and duties of the Wiki Jury specified in this contest apply to them.

Procedural remarks

  • Participants must correctly upload their application to the contest (in PDF format) in order for the jury to view it. If the application is not available or does not meet the described criteria, the candidate will be rejected by the jury.

  • Participants must submit their work before the end of the contest. If the application is submitted late, it will not be accepted.

  • All submissions must contain the contestant’s contact information, including a Telegram username, by which jurors can verify that the submission belongs to the individual who submitted it. If not, your submission will be rejected.

  • If your submission has links to the work performed, the content of those links must have the contestant’s contact details and Telegram username, so jurors can match it and verify who the work belongs to. If not, your submission will be rejected.

  • Contestants must provide valid FreeTON addresses where they will receive their reward in case of winning. Make sure that you keep your seed phrase and private keys from your wallet in a safe place.

  • Every participant can submit only one submission. Unnecessary submissions will be rejected.

Special condition

Any winning submission may be canceled if the contestant fails to provide a public key corresponding to the address sent with the submission within 72 hours of receiving such a request from any of the current Free TON Wiki Jury members.

If the submission is canceled, the contestant will lose the right to be elected to the Free TON Wiki Jury in this contest.

Disclaimer

Anyone can participate, but Free TON does not distribute TONs to US citizens or entities.

Hello everyone!
I am an active member of Free TON community. I’m researching various community materials to improve my knowledge in this field. I don’t have programming or software development skills, but I contribute to the community as much as I can.
Previously, I was interested in computer technology, was an active member and moderator in a forum on computer topics for about 10 years. I have 2 higher education in economics. Examples of my materials on Freeton.wiki:

Not all materials published by me on Free TON Wiki are given. Some materials have been translated into English. My authorship of these articles can be confirmed with the initial members of Free TON Wiki (recently the material was transferred to the Mediawiki engine).
I signed a declaration of decentralization.
I would be happy to apply my knowledge and experience to Free TON Wiki jury.

I’m sure that the code (the blockchain) as the fifth generation of the crypto world written by Nikolai and Pavel Durov will be a leading blockchain on the planet, we all know what products the Durovs make!
After the official refusal to launch TON by telegram messenger, the preparation and launch of the TON blockchain by the world community began, thus creating the largest and most decentralized Freeton blockchain. I have been working on the project from the very start in two directions: Freeton wiki and Freeton Ambassadors! In the Freeton Wiki section, I actively contribute to the development of the Wiki by translating articles for the common knowledge base and creating various articles. In the Freeton Ambassadors section, I am planning to promote, train, and create a team to popularise Freeton, promoting the idea of decentralization around the world! Hello there,

My name is Anton and I’d like to join Free TON Wiki Team. I had experience of building crypto-related Wiki encyclopedia from scratch. We made about 800 articles and finished few contests during last year @bitjudge and @epidemia was a part of our team, I’m sure they can confirm this.

As full-stack dev with experience in blockchain development I can be helpful with judging technical-related content.

Hello.

My name is Konstantin.

I have been watching and participating in blockchains since the time when bitcoin cost 6k ₽. In the community, almost from the very beginning, the declaration was signed a few days after the launch.

Participated in two (one of the first) competitions.

I was very imbued with the idea, spirit, and scale of the project. I would like to be part of such a community, and contribute to the formation and development. Not a programmer, not a developer.

I have the necessary amount of time to perform the duties of the jury.

Hello, I have some appointment to some juror. Some of them rejected my submission while it was valid, asserting:

  • Invalid submission, it seems the contests were confused

  • Applications for contests have been mixed. Lack of attention to procedure and details.

  • I didn’t see any huge activity in chats.

It was two identical submission on two different contest, but both was valid submission. I think that a judge cannot reject a submission if is valid. If the candidate do not like, they have a 10 points scale to value.
Any feedback is welcome

Hello!

I wrote to you on the forum about errors in applications. There was no answer. You can view all my messages. Likewise, you have not submitted YOUR OWN Wiki reward application (?!). The only one of all. How can you evaluate other people’s work if you still haven’t learned how to submit even your own applications?

Did you know that you didn’t apply for the Wiki Renewal Contest? We know it. Because we check all the submissions.

Yes, I do a mistake with my reward application, and with the submit of submission too. I take the responsability, but, actually it happens because of my very bad connection. Anyway submission was both valid and not to be rejected, at last may be low scored. Jurors have to be more punctual, is my opinion

I think that there is no one here who should look for mistakes, check everything and remind them. But still, we do it. Just because we care. But we might not have to do it. Since it is a big job to keep track of all the participants. It turns out that we just serve the community. But the community is just by itself. It is not right. We are doing a common cause.
