I. ABOUT US.

Grupovina and Popusti are 2 out of top 4 coupon websites in Serbia, with 493 432 users and 6m+ emails sent monthly.

Grupovina exist since 2010.
Popusti exists since 2012

Serbia’s population is 7 mln. people and only 5 mln people are using the internet, 10% out of which are our users.

II. PROPOSAL

Currently we are in the process of redesign of our loyalty program by deeper customer segmentation.

Our proposal is to BackUp and convert our loyalty points into TON bonuses.

That only will give a huge benefit to the spread of TON into the real economy sector in Serbia, but
users will be able to buy services/products from over 1000 partners.

We are willing to give bonus points for each purchase, or other user action.

By using our system of voucher payment in Serbia users will be able to actually make purchases using their TON crystals.

In addition, we will promote TON via our Email Marketing, Google ads and SMM Marketing.
We are giving possibility to actually pay with bonuses.

III. HOW WE PLAN TO DO IT?

  1. We will reward users with TON Crystals which make a purchase on our Website, based on their ranking.

  2. We will provide a charity payment for each particular purchase and the user gets to choose 1 out 3 charity funds which are changing every 3 months, backed up by TON Crystals and properly promoted.

  3. We will reward partners with TON Crystals based on their activity.

  4. We will give discount on purchase with TON Crystal to some users based on their ranking and activity

  5. We will send TON Crystals to users/partners upon request via internal account/TON wallet integration.

  6. Users will be able to deposit TON crystals on their internal wallet so they can make purchases.

I think that not many people know Serbian market. Perhaps for this there is not much attention to this proposal.
I am also not well aware of these campaigns and it is difficult for me to say how good this partnership is.

Main value for FT community as we see it, is that Free ton will have utility and brand awareness. For your understanding, if we were working on Russian market (I saw you have some posts in Russian), you would be able to see Free Ton on billboards in Russia, and for crystals you could buy 4000+ services (f.e. go to doctor and get ultra sound screening) and your partner would be both Biglion and KupiKupon.

For us it is a way to be different and better than our competitors and provide our users with something good and innovative. :).

Located in the center of Europe, on Balkan peninsula, Serbia’s population is approx. 7 mln. people.

Around 5 mln people are online , 10% out of which are our users. That unique opportunity from one side gives us wide reach in country.

Information: In terms of user reach, user base with 500 000 users in Serbia is similar to the 25 mln. user base e-commerce website in the US.

Although Serbia is not a big country, it is well known as an IT Hub for the US and UK.

For example, In Serbia there are Microsoft, Google and Oracle dev centers and they plan to open data centers.

Also Crypto currency is well known in Serbia. A lot of people were mining bitcoin in a period, when it was profitable.

Currently there is a legal framework for crypto.

Grupovina and Popusti are 2 out of top 5 Daily deals (coupons) websites in Serbia, with 500 000 users (370k of them in Belgrade) and 6m+ emails sent monthly.

Basically we are Serbian version of worldwide known Daily Deala websites

Popusti - Serbian means sales.

We are an e-commerce platform and online partner for 1000+ offline small, medium and large businesses in Serbia and for more than 5000+ since start.

Today Grupovina is a one stop shop for all sales in Serbia with 4000+ offline deals(we call them offers) with partners providing goods and services with discount.

Our other website Popusti.rs is in public beta today.

IMPORTANT: As a Serbian website we are fully GDPR compliant.

Users are paying on our websites for offers and then we issue a coupon with QR code which is presented to the partner. Partner is providing goods or service free of charge to the client and then we pay redeem payments to the partners.

It is very important to say that our gross margin is 0-20% from every offer. From this margin we pay our OPEX, CAPEX and other expenses. That is why we are always keen to be cost effective.

History
Grupovina is online since 2010.
Up to 2015 we were working in eCommerce and Marketing in Balkans and beyond,

We acquired Grupovina in 2016 with 180k users and since then we managed to get additional 300k users.

Initially our main focus were services (beauty salons, private clinics, education).

Starting from 2017 we acquired our competitors and in the end 2018 we managed an M&A deal with previous owners of popusti.rs which was the top1 daily deal website in Serbia.

During 2019- 2020 we finished re-design of popusti.rs website and whole platform introducing many new features such us:

  • PDF versions of printed catalogs
  • Information about sales for all major brands in Serbia.

3. Partnership vision

Since 2010 we have many marketing activities for management of KupiMe and for our current brand Grupovina in both digital, outdoor and retail marketing.

As a digital marketing agency we are focused on conversions and that is why we mainly perform digital marketing activities.

We are one of biggest google ads advertisers in Serbia with more than 70 campaigns and 23000 keywords simultaneously run.

We promote via Text, Images and video ads.

Our digital marketing strategy is to promote via long tail keywords by focusing on intent and purchase part of the marketing funnel, that is why, we promote mainly offers with goods/services where we have higher margin, and our categories/subcategories. This approach gives us higher conversion rate and more loyal customers.

In addition we promote special events which we plan and perform on occasions (Black friday, Halloween, Day of student, first day of spring etc.). During special events we give additional discounts to our users (up to 10% on our prices with discount from partner).

Grupovina facebook group has more than 160 000 members (155 000 following) and is among the biggest in Serbia.

Our weekly reach is 11-20k users without paid promotion, based on the attractiveness of our offers.

During our activities we found that paid promotion on facebook doesn’t have a good conversion rate so we mainly promote brand awareness and interest segments.

  • 3. Instagram Marketing

On the other hand Instagram is widely used in Serbia to promote goods and services.

We didn’t do invest a lot on instagram, we were testing hypothesis in order to develop 360 Digital Marketing for 2020-2025.

After popusti.rs go live we will start promotions on instagram on multiple profiles divided by interests - coupons, travel, sales, katalogs

  • Proposal

In a perfect world only by saying that we are a part of a FreeTON community would make the most innovative platform in Serbia and Balkans, and of the most innovative in SEE region and give us brand advantage.
But, we live in a real world where sometimes legislation occurs. That’s why we consider strategy where we will position TON Crystal as a part of our loyalty program.

We propose to put sign “backed up by TON Community” and/or “backed up by Crystal Crystals” on our all of our marketing activities by using not only using our digital asses (E-mail, Push notifications, Brands, Google ads, Facebook/Instagram) but also to go together to a new level

The proposed marketing campaign is aimed to promote our new loyalty program with TON Crystal in the centre of it. Co-branded campaign is synergical for both brands: TON Crystal + Grupovina/Popusti. The creative concept of this campaign is also based around TON Crystal.

Radiation from bombs is a big issue in Serbia

As a part of our corporate responsibility we don’t see it possible to just work in this beautiful country without helping people among us.

That is why in public beta we introduced a charity program to our users.

Each offer has an amount of Serbian dinars which we transfer to charity. All money donated to charity will be taken out of our revenue margin.

But we think that today just saying that we are giving to charity or transfer money is not enough. We believe in the power of choice.

That is why we give our users the opportunity to pick which charity fund they want to donate money from their purchases.

Once a month we will transfer money and provide proof of transfer on our website.

All funds are hand picked and we stand for our reputation. Please bare in mind that we exist since 2010 and our reputation is one of our main assets

For each RSD given by us there would be 1 RSD backed by TON Crystals

For that we will dedicate one person to be responsible for detailed work with charities and we will make not just payments and reports but also we will work more closely with funds.

4. Roadmap

As a part of our 2020-2030 strategy we divide propose do divide our partnership into several stages:

Important: Currently this proposal is caped by Serbian Market. Grupovina strategy 2020-2030 is based on expansion to other markets.

Good quality proposal! I think this would be a great partnership, but I also think there may be opportunities for improvements. For example, how much does your company currently spend on outdoor and digital marketing? $80k/mo for digital marketing seems very high (for adding Free TON, not total budget). I think the Free TON community should only provide the incremental cost to add Free TON to the marketing that your company already does.

Also, there will be a lot of work for the community to track the implementation. How can your company simplify the verification of how the funds are used/allocated? Any company requesting $4.5M should expect to provide a lot of evidence that the funds are used appropriately. There also needs to be a method for verification that there is no fraud etc. (especially with such large amounts).

I would prefer to see these partnerships approved in stages (this was done here, but could be broken down more) - commitments are only made for the first stage (in this example - 425k, or a lower negotiated amount), and then the company presents the results to the community. Then the next stage is approved etc. (a SubGov is needed to do this efficiently).

I think this is a very good quality proposal and I like how it adds use cases for Free TON. I would like to see more justification for the amounts requested (there is some good detail here, but for example, how much approximately does each billboard cost etc.). I think 4 crystals/user wallet is (currently) reasonable, IMO.

I believe many community members think 5B crystals seems like an unlimited amount, but this is not as much as many think. It is better to think of this as $5,000. We already spend $20 on partnerships and now there are requests for many more millions. We have to be careful how we spend these if our goal is to achieve global adoption.

One more idea for partnerships in general: We should establish a new metric to evaluate proposals - Adoption Efficiency (AE) = TONs Allocated / New Users Expected. We have approximately 5 Billion TONs and our goal is 1 Billion users, so AE should always be < 5, and should be minimized as much as possible (it must be less than 5 because we need TONs for other incentives etc.).

Thx for tagging me in and pointing at a new version of your proposal. v2.0 is a very proper made one! So much effort and time you’ve invested, many kudos from me personally.

What I got to say:

  1. 260k TON Crystals upfront with integration fee included is a very reasonable sum. KPI’s look feasible.
  2. Ability to purchase real-world services like season tire change enables both things.: a utility and market turnover. I’ve already said that previously.
  3. The idea about marketing budget sharing and communication message based around the FreeTON is great. Co-branding has tons of benefits, 100% agree. Crystal-branded buses and billboards melted me down with awesomeness =). The strategic marketing plan is reasonable too, looks like that you are a pro at digital marketing and you know exactly what to do.
  4. Emerging markets tend to adopt cryptocurrency faster than old and rigid ones.
  5. 6mln e-mails sent are huge advertising inventory itself, right?

Not sure that I have any questions left - everything is highlighted in a proposal. Well done, mate!

Stage 1 - timeframe looks ok. 3 months should be enough. Are we talking about 3 months for both sites or per site? If both - great, no questions here.

200K budget (what is around 70K/month) might be too much. If your system is working and working good, adding a reward program should also be easy. If the budget could be a bit less - I’d be happy to hear :slight_smile:

Stage 2. This one is questionable but mainly because I’m not very well aware of crypto market in Serbia. It’s point A. Secondly, I’m not sure that we need to launch it at this very moment.

As I see it - you have the audience (40K unique visits a day by similarweb; some Google Stats will work better here), thus, we should be working with it.

  • loyalty program (for each level at your site to give TONs - very cool)
  • rewards - price reduction if a part of it is payed with TONs (very cool)
  • having TON appear in your newsletters constantly with different teaser info (staking is coming!) - very cool
  • etc

And I’d add charity in this stage as well.

That said, I’d cut the proposal to Stage 1 + ‘internal’ promo (see above). Testing and working with your own audience for 3-6 months. And than return to the discussion of Stage 2. This is how we can create user experience, see how the audience reacts, does it buy TONs? Hodl and stake? Sell it?

Plus, I’d add some possible (like Stage 1.5) integration with a liquidity provider (Chatex or else), thus, the users can buy/sell TONs easy - and to have more options of using it.

  1. Communication and digital marketing strategy is based on co-Branding.
  2. We are promoting FreeTON and people awareness of it. As well as FreeTON brand mentions. The key element is FreeTON and it is the centre of communication and creatives.
  3. Digital strategy is based on keywords and the cost of them so it is not us who are defining the cost it is Google and Facebook.

About Costs

For the our costs calculation we used following in mind:
Potential LT Price per crystal - transaction fees - exchange fees - Legal fees - accounting fees - 20%VAT.

In overall Our business model is pure e-com, and our profits will come only out of it. We consider Free Ton Community as a partner, and not as a source of Crystals which then can be sold.

Benefits for us (Gropovina/Popusti) are:

  1. We provide additional value to our customers via a loyalty program based on FreeTON. More loyalty means more lifetime value per single customer. More LTV means more profitable business for us. So the synergy is pretty clear for us.
  2. We will save lives and families thanks to our joint co-branding charity program.

Benefits for FreeTON community and TON Crystals are:

  1. Real world use case
  2. Brand awareness due to co-branded marketing (!!!)
  3. Partnership with major regional league MVP.

2. Question/Concern

Digital: Unfortunately we may not disclose the exact figures, but only because this forum is public. We don’t want our competitors to see it.

At the moment we put Free Ton on our websites, competitors will start searching for it, and come to the forum. :slight_smile:

What we may say is that some of the most successful e-com businesses in Serbia only spend around k150 Eur only on digital marketing per month.

Let me provide you with an example: we plan to run Google Paid Search campaign with keywords containing “FreeTON” locally in Serbia. So, basically, we directly promote FreeTON in our region.

Outdoor: Last time we used Outdoor during the launch of redesigned Grupovina. During that campaign we rented billboards, and performed BTL Marketing in Belgrade city center. That campaign took 3 weeks and the costs were around 30kEur. The problem with Outdoor is that it can’t be cross monitored, but still it is a great supportive marketing channel.

Now we plan to do it for a year and on a bigger scale.

Outdoor advertising works like a subliminal messaging and drives brand awareness and makes any other marketing much more effective.


3. Question/Concern

100% correct and agreed. Amazing comment. That is why we said that we should not go into Stage 2a until both Grupovina and Free Ton Community are happy with the results.

If both Grupovina and Free Ton Community are happy we will present stage 3 (our expansion plan for 2020-2030).

Cost differs based on multiple factors:

  1. City
  2. Size
  3. Is it is Digital or Printing
  4. Location
  5. Company owner of Billboard
  6. etc.

If you are asking for a price range Last time we did the analysis - EUR 1 000-20 000 per month.

More detailed analysis will require a lot of our time spent on research, which is not needed for Grupovina and Popusti, but it is needed for Free Ton marketing.

Outdoor marketing is mainly used for Brand Awareness and our brands are popular in Serbia already.

As you may see Initial stages are needed for Ton Community brand awareness and we propose to perform them as a part of our loyalty campaign.

Without partnership there is no need in those 3 areas of Marketing for Grupovina and Popusti only. But we also tend to get benefits for our own business out of it. It is called “Mutual benefits” or “Partnership”

1. Question/Concern

During integration we plan to integrate both sites in parallel withinin 3 months. So yes, this stands for both sites. and solve all questions that will arise on the way.


2. Question/Concern

We’d be happy to lower the integration budget too, but since we are a big player on Serbian market and due to Serbian Regulations, any look or feel that loyalty bonus program may be currency and we act as a bank will be a Deal Breaker by the letter from the ministry of finance to us.

1. Issue
That is why:

  1. First and main problem is that our current loyalty system is not capable for integration. We will need to redesign it, so it can be integrated.
  2. We need to perform a very detailed and proper risk research on our end.
  3. We need to minimise any potential risk for our business so people won’t see us as traders, which we are not.
  4. We need to hire Manager responsible for the Loyalty program.
  5. We need to change platforms in payments/discount accounting module. (for 2 websites)
  6. We need to prepare a Technical request for Our IT dev partner (for 2 websites).
  7. Dev partner needs to implement it. (for 2 websites)
  8. We need to perform QA.(for 2 websites)
  9. We need Internal documentation preparation (for 2 websites)
  10. We need Internal processes development (for 2 websites)
  11. We need loyalty Integration with CRM (for 2 websites)
  12. We need to consult again with everybody when that is done.

and this is just from top of my head. I suppose there is much more. After that We move to alpha testing.

And that requires time and resources. A lot of time. Time = Money. That’s why our integration costs were estimated like that.

2. Issue

We don’t have in-house developers. I suppose that you understand that our IT dev company will not be happy if we say to them, work for 3 months for free. They even don’t know about Free Ton.

Lawyers in Serbia (at least the ones we are working with) definitely will not provide services for Free Ton.

That is why Grupovina and Popusti are ready to pay for all until we solve real-world problems.

3. Issue

And also the time which it all takes.

If you have any proposal how we may do it with less crystals (because we initially thought it will be more, but reduced amount according to the guidelines) please write to me in DM, because we may not understand something.


3. Question/Concern

After we know that everything is legal and our business will not be jeopardised we think that our next steps should be to educate people:

  1. Initially people in Serbia should just at least be aware that Free Ton exists.

  2. Then they should understand that they can actually utilize Crystals.

  3. Then they should know that our loyalty program is backed up by Free Ton.

  4. Then they will start to use it.

In order to test all scenarios we asked for a very small marketing upfront tranche of only 8.5%, until both sides are happy. Usually marketing agencies would charge 20-30% but we see Free Ton community as a partner, not as a client. Together to the moon. :slight_smile:

From our experience the best case would be if we educate users about Free Ton, rather just send them emails that the loyalty program is backed up by Free Ton. Education requires a multi-layered systematic approach.

On other hand we do understand your concerns.

That is why we didn’t apply for 3rd stage (our expansion plans) In order to ensure that both Free Ton community and Grupovina/Popusti are happy.


4. Question/Concern

Good idea, but we may only work with companies within the Green tax zone. As per our information Chatex is based on St. Vincent & the Grenadines and this will raise a huge flag for Tax authorities.

If there is any other company which will not potentially jeopardize our business we will definitely review this possibility since it is good for our users.

Grupovina/Popusti are clearly legitimate and professional. I support this proposal. I think our community can learn a lot from this partnership and it can be a good example or case study for other potential partners. Also, reaching ~10% of the (internet) population of Serbia will provide a good case study for economic adoption of Free TON. I hope Pier will also become an active member of our community and adviser for future business partnerships. I think he would be a very valuable community member.

I also agree with the suggestion above that promotion of adoption and on-boarding (where to buy/exchanges, use cases, Free TON references etc.) should be incorporated as much as possible. The goal should be for Grupovina/Popusti customers to adopt and use Free TON (not only for loyalty points). The ultimate goal should be widespread awareness and adoption of Free TON in a small country (Serbia).

Pier, can you please clarify: Will the services and stores that accept Grupovina/Popusti coupons also accept crystals for normal payments (without coupons)?
