Proposal: Changes in requirements for contests for creating marketing materials

Changes in requirements for contests for creating marketing materials.

Short description:

Improvements to the competition rules for the development of marketing materials for the Free TON community.

Type:

Proposal

The main proposals:

Contest Part I. Animated Stickers:

Conditions that MUST NOT be considered when evaluating work. Due to their addition by mistake / oversight:

• PNG format is a must (Winners must also provide SVG format)

  • Animated stickers in telegram use the .tgs format, this format is required to upload a picture to a sticker bot and get an animated sticker. The winner must provide the source code of his stickers in this format and in no other. The absence of .tgs source code BEFORE EVALUATION is not a reason for rejection of the work, since the source code must provide only prize places to receive an award.

• Sticker/canvas size must be 512х512 pixels | Sticker objects must not leave the canvas | Animation length must not exceed 3 seconds | Animation must be looped | Sticker size must not exceed 64 KB | All stickers inside one pack must have the same FPS (either 30 or 60) | You must not use the following Adobe After Effects functionality when animating yoursticker: Expressions, Masks, Layer Effects, Images, Solids, Texts, 3D Layers, MergePaths, Star Shapes, Gradient Strokes, Repeaters, Time Stretching, TimeRemapping, Auto-Oriented Layers. Using any of these tools will make it impossible to export your animation with Bodymovin-TG

  • All of the above is checked by the requirements of the telegram itself for creating animated stickers, to ensure compliance with these conditions, it does not make sense, since ANY animated sticker in the telegram corresponds to them by default. Requirements are taken from here: https://core.telegram.org/animated_stickers#technical-requirements

Contest Part II. Gifs:

• PNG format is a must (Winners must also provide SVG format)

  • GIFs cannot be in PNG / SVG format by definition, no format required.

• The length of the GIF should not exceed a weight of 1MB

  • The 1 megabyte limit was set due to incorrect information about the maximum file size limit on the sites where the winners’ gifs are planned to be uploaded. Current limits for popular platforms: Giphy - 100MB; Gfycat - no size limit; Imgur - 200MB; Reddit - 1GB (one gigabyte); Facebook - 100MB; Twitter - 512MB; Telegram - 2GB;

• GIF format

  • When uploading to the aforementioned sites, including telegrams, .gif is converted to .mp4, compression and resolution downsizing may occur when uploading, so the .mp4 format is not only valid, but also preferred over .gif, besides,. mp4 has better quality and several times smaller size. The .gif and .mp4 formats should be evaluated equally, the absence of the .gif format in the presence of the .mp4 format in the submitted work SHALL NOT be a reason for rejection of the application, subject to other conditions and the proper quality of the work itself.

Contest Part IV. Non-animated Stickers:

• PNG format is a must (Winners must also provide SVG format)

  • The winner must submit only .png sources, because it is in this extension that you need to upload pictures to the sticker bot to get the sticker. SVG format is not required. Or add it later for the top 3 winners.

• Sticker/canvas size must be 512х512 pixels | Sticker objects must not leave the canvas | Sticker size must not exceed 64 KB

  • All three conditions are copy-and-paste from the animated stickers contest, and have nothing to do with ordinary stickers.

Contest Part V. Memes:

• PNG format is a must (Winners must also provide SVG format)

  • Only required .png format, no SVG. For memes there is no such need and the PNG format should be enough

• Size 820x510 px; 510x510

  • Copy-paste from Contest Part III. Images for social media, the condition is not relevant for the meme contest.
